Star Spangled Banner Acclaim

This past weekend Anthony was able to do something that few artists have had the opportunity to do. He sang his new rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” preceding an address by former President George W. Bush, as well as Super Bowl winning Coach Tony Dungy. See what Coach Dungy had to say about Anthony’s performance below:

“Having been a coach in the National Football League for 28 years, I have seen many National Anthems performed.  I recently heard Anthony Evans do a rendition that was unique and inspiring.  I would put it right up there with Whitney Houston’s and Jennifer Hudson’s, done at Super Bowls in Tampa, as one of the most stirring that I have heard.”     Tony Dungy

    Hey Anthony!

My brother came up from San Antonio to attend the conference and loved it! He hadn’t heard you sing before, but he came back home telling me what a great job you did. Sounds like God did some pretty big things at that conference..praise Him for that! Thank your Dad for all he is doing for the kingdom, he is a blessing.

Looking forward to seeing you here in SA next weekend.

wow…very cool. I would say the difference that Tony Dungy heard from your performance and many others…is the Holy Spirit. He always makes the difference! Very nice photo also.

This is indeed a powerful song and a dynamic performance. I am looking forward to seeing you again at Celebrate Freedom in Atlanta . I saw you there in 2008 with my family. I heard your father speak at a rally in Columbia, S.C. several years ago, and I knew the annointng of the Holy Spirit was on him. ( I considered him to be the next Billy Graham ) I am so glad that you are following in his footsteps and bringing God’s word to countless souls that are struggling or wandering in darkness. God Bless you and your family. See Ya soon Bro. !!

Your rendition of this song is just so sweet, and so powerful. Your passion for Christ most assuredly comes through in every heart felt note. As a fellow worship leader, it’s so refreshing to heare really anointed prasie, that’s not always in teh same cookie cutter box! Thank you brother…

I have checked both the Titans and Cowboys schedules and see no reason why you couldn’t sing the National Anthem at least one of the Titans home games and 4 Cowboys games. It’s easy for me to say, but you deserve the opportunity.
