Lesson Learned

After fifteen years of scaring and pain in my hand, a visit to the doctor took care of it in forty minutes.  How much more could Christ do with a lifetime of pain and scaring in our lives?  Thanks for reading.

When people are broken & scarred, it is so important to surround yourself with godly people that can pray & touch and agree with you in getting through those valleys. It’s important to have a personal relationship with God b/c sometimes you may not have anyone to call on. One of my favorite scriptures is James 5:16-Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Be blessed!

  • JP

Good word! I have scars that are older than you are and they won’t go away. Sharing them won’t help. The good things that have come from my experiences is that I know how to be merciful and how important it is to live without bitterness.

@ Anthony thank you for sharing your illustration. I love how God uses our every day existence to teach us valuable lessons! Growth is not easy but it’s necessary and continue to allow God to complete what he as started in you (its a great work)! Be determined to regain everything that the enemy stole from you: your peace, your mind, your joy, your heart……..everything!!! And my prayer for you today is that you see what God sees in you…Anthony you are his heart!

@ JP I know you’ve read the scripture that says God will cause all things to work out for your good! When we tell our testimony to people although it may seem embarrassing or small, but to the person listening, it means a lot!!! It means their not alone especially when your going through things that make you say “I don’t see anyway out” and you here someone share their story! JP , I treasure those testimonies bc they have helped me in my darkest moments. Your freedom can help release others who are bound : )

-Keeping your name before God in prayer

As you pointed out we must first go to the One who knows what to do in order for us to be healed. I think for a lot of us it is all about fear, fear of the unknown and sometimes having to come to terms with what the issue is and sometimes reliving it. Also as you said one we come to that point of ‘I no longer want to be limited in my relationship (with God) and want more mobility’ then we will longer want to avoid those areas where we think we’ve locked out and place those issues (scars, fears, and pains) in the Healers hands and begin to walk in wholeness. God Bless you Sir.

  • Grace

So true! He is faithful and He’s the ultimate healer. Thank you for your wonderful testimony! Peace!

  • Leesha

AMAZING! I love how God uses practical things in our lives to make his Word and work so real to us! Thanx for sharing, AE!

  • Deon

Timely message! Thank You! It is also interesting how with new hurts the scar tissue of our hearts and soul get thicker and thicker. This causes us to “hardened” our hearts as a protective mechanism to prevent us from getting hurt again but it also prevents us from being free (or mobile) to deepen our relationships with others and God.

What a blessing. What a ministry. Thankful for a reminder of what God can do if we only humbly submit ourselves to His Craftsmanship and allow Him to cut out our scars. Yes, it will hurt. Yes, the healing process takes time, but in the end, we will be “mobilized” in the earth to glorify Him and show the world what amazing things can take place if you only believe!
    Thanks, bro. Keep it up.

This past couple of weeks have been very trying especially yesterday. When I came to the Lord I really imagined an environment where love amongst believers was prevalent. Having gone through some tough times in life I was really hoping for a break. Something about the enemy constantly bringing up your past and your inadequacies, your failures, and being gossiped about and treated like you don’t belong by fellow christians can render one immobile. I was ready to just be a hermit and move on to a better place. As I am still seeking direction on how to move on, I know that God is already healing my heart, even though I may not feel it immediately but I sensed a peace overcoming me when I listened to this clip. Thanks for sharing this, it was really meant to speak to me and it has!

  • Charlene

All I can say is thank you Anthony. Thank you VERY much.

  • Kathleen

Thank you once again Anthony for sharing with us what God is teaching you. I loved what you said about the surgery and healing being painful. True transformation is often painful. As we allow God to go in and scrape out the scarring of our lives it can be very painful and often many of us refuse or are resistant to allowing Him to do that surgery for fear of that pain, but when we kneel before our loving Surgeon and allow him to start to take out that scarring like you said (He won’t force the surgery on us) we begin to feel more deeply. God has been doing a lot of scar removal in my life and although sometimes incredibly painful and often to the point I can’t imagine making it through; His grace, faithfulness and love are the oinment that soothes the pain and I see the healing happening. Thank you for sharing. This is a creative and real life view of exactly what God does. I am learning that when I asked Jesus to be my Savior He washed me clean and in His eyes there are no wounds or scars (He remembers them NO MORE), but He still reaches in and removes them from us in a way that we can see, feel and realize so that WE can see that we are the righteousness of God in Christ. He helps us view ourselves as He views us. With beauty, purpose and value. 2 Timothy 1:7 He does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Thank you Lord that you never give up on us. God bless Anthony!

Thank you for continuing to inspire me and others. I’m glad I discovered your blog a few months ago. I hope I am able to see you and your band in GA next month. I love knowing that I’m not the only believer who isn’t ashamed of my Savior! I appreciate your boldness and the transparency you have with your bloggers. @ Kathleen, I appreciate your honesty and enjoyed reading your comment. God is truly Amazing! I pray that myself and others continue to seek Him for the problems/scars in our lives.

Oh wow!! I just want to thank you Mr. Evans for you obedience to the Lord because your music has truly blessed. I live good ol’ Oklahoma and I had listened to your Father’s teachings for awhile on a radio station here every tuesday before meetings for work, but ironically I had never heard of you. A few months ago I heard your song Amazing God on the radio which caused me to go find u on itunes. Nevertheless you and I have a very similiar story………I know the pain of a broken engagement but anyhow the song “the way you love me,” turned out to be a song of deliverance for me. I found myself trying to figure out what God was doing and why he allowed it to happen. Why would God allow me to go through so much pain and what i considered embarassment. I found myself wondering how could I a teacher of the gospel and a mentor for many young women in my church be in such a position?? Where did I go wrong? But, when I listened to that song it ministered to my soul. I realized that in our moments of desperation that is when he truly is God Almighty. I just thank God for his love he truly is amazing. Praise break………** lol jk!

I know people tell you this all the time, but I praise God for you walking in his will, ways and being obedient no matter the cost!!We need you to come to OKLAHOMA one day :)

Way to practice what you preach!

First song came to mind is “HEALER” from your recent album.
    (One of my favorites).

This is making me look at the hidden scars in my own life. What a great reminder to us that we have access to our Father, the Devine Healer, thru Jesus Christ our wonderful, merciful Savior! : ) if we just come to HiM!

    your V-blog is a great example of living out the quote;
    “Your mess becomes your message,
    your suffering becomes your sermon,
    your test becomes your testimony.”
(In essence, what we go thru is hardly ever about us, but for the saving of many lives) Genesis 50:20

Thank you for once again translating from God’s heart to ours!
He is truly is the Master Surgeon.

    In HiM we LiVe,
    VoNi

It’s truly amazing how God can fix something so quickly that we go through for a long period of time. There is nothing impossible for him! I just witnessed some of his mercy and faithfulness that I didn’t deserve today and I’m so blessed and so THANKFUL!!!!

One of my strengths used to be that I never gave up on people — I loved them regardless of their circumstances or mine. In the last few years I have become so jaded. If someone wrongs or hurts me, I blow them off because I don’t want to be used by people to further their own kingdoms – especially people in the ministry. I will wear myself out ‘doing’ for God as long as I can keep an emotional distance from the people I am serving or supporting. I watched the video blog several times before I realized how much scar tissue is going to have to be removed…

  • Jessica K

I agree Pastor Blunt last night was talking about not leaving this year angry, and allowing God to heal and mend the hurt and wrongs. There was something Pastor said that was so profound and that is those who don’t forgive hold themselves captive to their own prison of torture… wow!
